The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 22 year old lady, Nwachukwu Chidubem Blessing, for allegedly staging her own kidnap and defrauding her family of N3 million ransom.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, following credible intelligence gathered in the course of investigating a reported kidnapping incident.

Ikenga said despite the payment of N3 million ransom by her family, the supposed victim was not released, a development that prompted the police to intensify investigation.
He said following sustained intelligence gathering, operatives in the afternoon of September 18, traced and recovered the lady in a room in Asaba, Delta State.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the lady allegedly conspired with a female associate identified as Onyinye, whose surname is yet to be ascertained, and another male accomplice currently at large, to stage her own kidnapping to obtain money from her family,” Ikenga stated.
According to him, the suspect is currently assisting the police with useful information to establish full circumstances surrounding the incident and to apprehend her accomplices.
