The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Musawa, who disclosed this in a statement, said she visited the bereaved family to convey the condolences and heartfelt greetings of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on behalf of the Federal Government and the Nigerian people.
The minister described Ogogo as a renowned and respected figure in Nigeria’s film industry, noting that his death represented a significant loss to his family, colleagues, fans and the wider Nigerian creative community.
“I paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of the late Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, a renowned and respected figure in Nigeria’s film industry,” Musawa said.
She said the late actor made remarkable contributions to Nollywood and demonstrated strong dedication to the Nigerian arts throughout his career.
According to the minister, Ogogo’s contributions will remain an important part of Nigeria’s creative heritage.
“His remarkable contribution to Nollywood and his dedication to the Nigerian arts will remain an important part of our creative heritage,” she said.
Musawa also extended the condolences of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy to Ogogo’s family, friends and colleagues.
She prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family as they come to terms with the death of the veteran actor.
“May God grant the family the strength to bear this painful loss and grant his soul eternal rest,” the minister said.
Musawa added that the Federal Government mourned with the family and would continue to honour the legacy of the late actor.
“We mourn with the family, we honour his legacy, and we pray for comfort in this difficult time,” she said.
Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was a veteran Yoruba actor whose career spanned several decades.
