The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has assured residents of the state that the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji will deliver more dividends of democracy in its next term, urging citizens to sustain their support for the government.
Dr. Oyebanji gave the assurance in her office in Ado-Ekiti while hosting various political groups at a jubilation party organised to celebrate the victory of Governor Oyebanji in the recently concluded governorship election.
She said the administration is committed to surpassing its first-term achievements through increased investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, road construction and other people-oriented projects aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
The governor’s wife also called on women groups across the state to remain steadfast and loyal to both the administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that their support was instrumental to the party’s electoral success.
She advised party members who may be dissatisfied over appointments to embrace dialogue and diplomacy rather than resort to litigation that could undermine party unity.
Dr. Oyebanji further urged political stakeholders to shun politics of calumny and embrace peace and unity, stressing that collective efforts were essential to sustain development and strengthen the state’s political landscape.
In their goodwill messages, the Head of Service, Dr. Folake Olomojobi; the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Kofoworola Aderiye; a former commissioner for women affairs in Ekiti State, Chief Ronke Okusanya, commended Dr. Oyebanji and the state government for various empowerment programmes targeted at women.
They pledged their continued support for the administration’s development agenda and expressed confidence that the next dispensation would usher in greater progress for the state.
The event was attended by various women’s groups, including market women, women in appointive political positions, wives of local government chairmen and members of different artisan associations.
