The younger sister of the former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, as well as, her twin sons: Peter and Paul, have been rescued by security operatives in Oyo State.
The development came four days after they were abducted by unknown gunmen
The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Olayinka Ayanlade, when contacted on Saturday evening, confirmed the release.
He simply wrote: “True” to a message sent to her.
According to the reports, the victims were rescued alive during a coordinated operation carried out by police operatives on Saturday evening at about 7:30 p.m.
It was gathered that the rescue operation involved an exchange of gunfire between security personnel and the kidnappers in the course of which the suspected abductors were reportedly neutralized and weapons recovered from the scene.
Mrs. John-Paul and her children were abducted on Tuesday along the Elewura Street around Challenge in Ibadan.
The incident sent pandemonium across the. State and the nation as a whole. Security operatives immediately swung into action believing that the abductors might not have escaped from the Ibadan metropolis.
The successful rescue was sais to have brought relief to family members, friends, and residents who had been following developments surrounding the abduction.
The woman and her twin boys were waylaid around the community while she was driving out to drop her sons at a private school.
The kidnappers who operated in a 2008 model of a Corolla car without number plate, whished the three victims out of the car they were driving in, shot sporadically to scare residents away, and zoomed off.
The Police as at this time of report have not provided details on the operation leading to the release, and ongoing efforts to apprehend other members of the kidnapping gang.
