The All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, paid a courtesy visit to Iyabo Obasanjo Bello at her residence in Abeokuta, in a move aimed at reinforcing party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
Obasanjo Bello, who also contested the party’s governorship ticket, had earlier congratulated Adeola on his emergence as the APC’s consensus candidate, issuing a public statement in support of his candidacy.
The meeting, attended by her loyalists and political associates, was formally opened by former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Salmot Badru, who commended Obasanjo Bello for her enduring contributions to governance and public service.
Speaking during the visit, Adeola described the meeting as an appreciation gesture, noting that reconciliation was unnecessary given her prompt and steadfast support.
He praised her tenure as senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, highlighting her performance as impactful and widely respected.
Adeola further assured her supporters of an inclusive campaign and governance style, emphasizing that all stakeholders would be actively involved.
“I am here to thank my sister and to assure her that we will work together. I am ready to align with her vision and ensure that, collectively, we take Ogun State to the next level,” he said.
He also pledged to incorporate her ideas and policy contributions into his agenda, stressing that no group would be excluded.
The visit concluded on a strong note of unity and renewed collaboration, with Adeola reaffirming his commitment to inclusive leadership and sustained engagement with party members and stakeholders across Ogun State.
