Oye Local Government Chairman Bamisile promises improved IGR.

The Chairman of Oye Local Government Princess Clara Bamisile, has presented the 2026 appropriation bill of 9.2 billion naira to the council’ s legislative arm for approval.

The Budget Christened “Budget of Reality” is expected to focus on Agriculture, social infrastructure, Education, Youth Empowerment among others.

The Budget presentation held at the Legislative Chamber of the Council in Oye Ekiti had the Chairmen of Ifeloju LCDA Hon. Sola Oniyelu, Ayede LCDA Hon. Aderemi Ajayi and that of Ifesowapo LCDA Hon. Muyiwa Ajibola.

Others at the ceremony included traditional rulers, Political office holders, Opinion Leaders, Market women among others.

A breakdown of the budget indicates a capital expenditure of 4.668 billion naira representing 50 per cent while Recurrent Expenditure of 4.6 billion naira represents 50 per cent.

In her speech, Princess Bamisile said some of the programmes and projects that will be carried out under the budget includes grading of rural roads, provision of solar street lights, empowerment of all categories of people, sensitization, training and seminars for workers, empowerment of women and youths and agricultural development programmes.

She emphasized that the budget proposal signifies the return of accountability, checks, and balances in the administration of the local government.

“The presentation of the budget estimates to the legislature for passage is an obligation that must be fulfilled in accordance with the provisions of extant laws and regulations”.

Princess Bamisile explained the priority of the budget will focus on areas of need, particularly infrastructural development, and called for the cooperation of the legislative arm for its quick passage.

At the event Ifeloju LCDA presented a budget estimate of 1.7 billion naira, Ifesowapo LCDA 1.3 billion naira while Ayede LCDA presented a budget of over 800 million naira.

The Leader of the House, Hon. Olorunyomi Abe commended the chairman for putting together a budget that captures the shared resolve to deepen inclusive development and strengthen the resilience of the communities.

He said the legislative assembly will scrutinise the budget and give it timely attention.

The Head of Local Government Administration in Oye Local Government Mr Funso Osho who was overwhelmed with the success of the budget presentation assured the Chairmen that work in the councils would work towards the effective implementation of the budget towards the development of rural communities in the area.
