Ekiti First Lady, WAOH Foundation Support Widows with Welfare Packages for Christmas

The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, through her Widows and Orphans Hope (WAOH) Foundation, has extended welfare support to widows across the state as part of efforts to ease the challenges of the Christmas season.

The empowerment programme held at the Adunni Olayinka Hall, Ado-Ekiti attracted widows from different parts of the state.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the WAOH Coordinator, Dr. Kemi Dairo, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Toyin Adepoju (SAPOL).

In her opening remarks, Dr. Kemi Dairo underscored the far-reaching impact of the WAOH Initiative, noting that the foundation has consistently provided support for widows, orphans, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups across Ekiti State.

She described the intervention as a reflection of the First Lady’s deep compassion and unwavering commitment to social welfare.

Delivering her goodwill message, Hon. Toyin Adepoju urged the widows to remain hopeful, resilient, and steadfast despite life’s challenges.

She also called on them to continue supporting the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, particularly by ensuring that they have their voter cards ready for future elections.

Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, the WAOH coordinator, Dr. Kemi Dairo announced that each widow would receive rice, garri, and a cash token of ₦20,000 to enable them to celebrate the festive season with satisfaction and joy.

She emphasized that the gesture forms part of the First Lady’s ongoing commitment to improving the welfare and well-being of widows across the state.
In separate thank-you messages, Mrs. Bankole Omowumi, Alice Agboola, and Akinnawo Temilola expressed heartfelt appreciation to the wife of the Governor for the timely support, describing the intervention as a source of relief and encouragement during the festive period.

The event also featured prayers and expressions of gratitude from the benefiting widows, reaffirming the WAOH Foundation’s resolve to continue touching lives and giving hope to vulnerable citizens in Ekiti State.
