Former Chief of Staff to the late Governor Adebayo Adefarati, Hon. Foluso Aminu, has described the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor LuckyAiyedatiwa’s election victory as a commendable development that has brought lasting closure to post-election disputes in Ondo State.

In a personally signed statement made available to Weekend Hope, Aminu said the dismissal of appeals against Aiyedatiwa’s victory had finally laid to rest all litigations arising from the governorship election.

He commended the judiciary for what he termed the swift and professional adjudication of the case, noting that Nigeria’s justice system continues to raise the bar in fairness and efficiency.

“Now that the case has been laid to rest at the apex court, Governor Aiyedatiwa should be allowed to focus on governance and deliver on his promises to the people of Ondo State,” Aminu stated, adding that incessant litigations after elections often distract public office holders.

The APC chieftain also lauded the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr. Alfred Agboola Ajayi, for his courage in seeking justice through legal means, describing his decision to withdraw the suit as patriotic.

“I salute Mr. Agboola Ajayi’s courage in trusting the judiciary as the last hope of the common man. Now that the case is settled, I implore him to support Aiyedatiwa’s administration to take Ondo State forward,” Aminu said.

According to him, Ajayi’s withdrawal of the case at the Supreme Court was “highly commendable” and a demonstration of statesmanship.

“This is the time for all of us to cooperate with His Excellency in his quest to bring his EASE agenda to our doorsteps. Enough of all distractions,” he added.

Aminu stressed that effective governance and development require collective contributions from all stakeholders, irrespective of party affiliation, and urged political leaders and citizens to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa in moving the state forward.
