In a viral statement, the prophetess faulted the public celebration of Makinwa’s pregnancy, warning that it could send the wrong message to young women.
“Toke, God cannot give you a child without a husband. And to all of you congratulating and celebrating her, when you celebrate what is wrong, you are going to be a reflection of it. You’re going to have a daughter— is this the pattern you want to lay down for her?” Segufunmi said.
Her remarks have further fueled debate on social media, where Nigerians remain divided. While some argue that Makinwa deserves to be celebrated for embracing motherhood, others share the prophetess’s concerns about societal values.
