EKSG TRAINS TRADE , COOPERATIVE OFFICERS FOR ENHANCED SERVICE DELIVERY IN DIGITAL AGE

The Ministry of Capacity Development and Training has organized a two-day capacity building workshop themed “Performance Enhancement in Cooperative, Trade & Investment Administration and Management in the Era of Digitization” for officers in the cooperative, trade, and commercial cadres of Ekiti State.

Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Capacity Development and Training, Prof. Patrick Tedela, emphasized the strategic importance of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives in Ekiti State’s economic development. He described the ministry as a key enabler of grassroots growth, engaging directly with critical areas such as trade, commerce, industry, and especially cooperative societies which he noted are central to enhancing productivity and promoting economic inclusion.

The Permanent Secretary, Capacity Development and Training, Mr. Olawale Olaleye, highlighted that the theme of the workshop was carefully crafted to meet the pressing training needs of officers in the cadres. He expressed confidence that the knowledge shared during the sessions would be highly beneficial, especially in adapting to the challenges and opportunities brought about by technological advancement.

Also speaking, a resource person and Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Bukola Ogunlade, stressed that the quality of governance is directly linked to the quality of the Civil Service. She noted that the training aligns with the government’s objective of equipping civil servants with the requisite skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively and contribute meaningfully to the realization of governmental goals.

The Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Mr. Dayo Falua, along with another resource person, Pastor William Alabi, urged participants to seize the opportunity provided by the workshop to upgrade their skills and add value to themselves and their respective departments.

Participants at the workshop, including Mr Osundele Folorunso and Mrs Nworea Lucia, expressed enthusiasm and commitment to apply the knowledge and insights gained to enhance their service delivery and contribute more effectively to the growth and development of the Civil Service and the State in general.
