..brainstorms with media personalities in Oyebanji’s Government
There seems to be hope in sight for the dream of the Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to build an ultra modern Press Centre that will provide the much needed conducive environment and facilities for Journalists to operate seamlessly.
This followed promises made by media personalities serving in the government of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to support the Union and mobilize good spirited individuals to launch the building by October this year.
The promises were made during a strategic meeting held with the media appointees led by the Commissioner for Information, Rt Hon. Taiwo Olatubosun at the NUJ Hall in Ado Ekiti.
Other media aides who attended the meeting include representatives of the Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yinka Oyebode; Director General of the Bureau of Community Commutations, Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso, DG Value Orientation and Citizenship, Mrs Famuyiwa, and the Technical Advisor on Political Communication, Akogun Tai Oguntayo among others.
Speaking at the meeting the government’s aides agreed that the construction of a befitting press centre for Ekiti NUJ was long overdue, hence the promise to use their influence and connections to mobilize support for the realization of the project.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi thanked the leaders for their usual support for the Union.
Babatuyi said the union would be grateful if they could facilitate the construction of the press centre.
