The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ekiti State, Mr. Ojo Babatope, has charged workers in the Ministry to use their spare time productively by engaging in agricultural activities rather than indulging in idleness.
Speaking at a forum of staff of the Ministry held in Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Babatope emphasized that participation in farming would not only enhance personal growth but also contribute to achieving food security in line with the efforts of the State Government under the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
He noted that food security remains a top priority of the current administration and encouraged workers to key into the agricultural initiatives being promoted by the government.
Also addressing the workers, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Ayodeji Oreyomi, admonished staff to be dutiful and committed to their responsibilities. He stressed the need to shun lateness to work, describing punctuality and dedication as critical virtues for a thriving civil service.
In a sermon at the event, an Assistant Director, Mr. Olaniyi Ijadare, gave an exhortation on the importance of time management, quoting from Ecclesiastes 3:1: “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven” — and Genesis 8:22. He urged the workers to recognize the value of time in their personal and professional lives.
The programme was part of ongoing efforts to instill discipline, promote productivity, and support the agricultural transformation drive of the Ekiti State Government.
