The Federation of Muslim Women of Nigeria (FOMWAN) Ekiti state chapter has  felicitated the State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi on the three- year  anniversary.

The Amirah of FOMWAN in the State, Alhaja Muibat Akingbade in a press statement she personally signed  on behalf of the entire muslim women prayed God to keep protecting the governor , his wife and all those working with them including the commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Mariam Ogunlade.

Alhaja Akingbade also prayed for continued peace and tranquility in the state saying no state could develop without peace.

She noted that muslim women have been showing more interest in issues affecting them and their wellbeing owing to the sensitization and encouragement championed by the wife of the governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi.

The FOMWAN leader however urged more muslim women to be involved in politics and economic empowerment initiatives rather than be mere on-lookers or observers.

Alhaja Akingbade said “positive contributions of women irrespective of their religions, ethnicity, academic qualifications or background help nations to attain greater heights , hence muslim women in Ekiti state and Nigeria in general should not be left behind in contributing their own quota towards the development of the society”.

She also urged men and husbands to always encourage women and their wives to make impact in different spheres of life rather than confine them to the kitchen.
