2027: Supporting Tinubu Doesn’t Make Me APC Member – Rivers Grassroots Leader, Jackrich

High Chief Sobomabo Jackrich, leader of the Rivers Grassroots Movement, has clarified that his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election does not mean he is a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Jackrich made the clarification during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he spoke on his political position, his relationship with the ruling party and grievances affecting him and his followers.

When asked whether the APC leadership was aware of the complaints raised by him and members of his group, Jackrich said his support for Tinubu was based on personal political conviction and not party membership.

He maintained that supporting a presidential candidate does not require an individual to belong to the candidate’s political party.

“I am supporting President Tinubu, but that does not mean I am supporting him as a member of the APC; I have my own political background and can support any candidate I choose,” he said.

The Rivers-based politician recalled that he contested the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State on the platform of the National Rescue Movement, NRM.

According to him, his reference to his political background underscores his position that he can retain his identity while supporting a candidate from another party.

Jackrich noted that his support for the President should not be interpreted as joining the APC or abandoning his political group.

He added that supporting Tinubu does not stop him from raising concerns about issues affecting him and his followers, stressing that political support and voicing grievances are not mutually exclusive.
