The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched a National Reconciliation and Peace Committee in Abuja.
This comes as Nigeria prepares for the forthcoming 2027 general election
The National Chairman of the party, Senator David Mark, who made as Nigeria this disclosure on Wednesday, said the committee was formed to resolve issues stemming from recent primaries and ensure all members feel appreciated.
He emphasised that while elections decide who represents the party, they should not determine party membership, highlighting that both successful and unsuccessful candidates remain valuable assets to the ADC.
Mark noted that the committee was established in accordance with Article 91 of the ADC Constitution and reflects the party’s “handshake” philosophy of fostering unity across differences.
