The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti, Prof Joseph Babatola Ayodele has congratulated Nigerian workers, particularly the respected workers of Ekiti State University on the occasion of the 2026 workers’ Day Celebration.
In a statement to mark the year 2026 International Workers’ Day,the Vice Chancellor noted that the commitment of both teaching and non- teaching staff has been assisting his administration to build a university that Competes, Serves and Endures .
“Let us be more committed in building a university that not only competes nationally and globally, but serves our society in meaningful ways, ensuring that the legacy of Ekiti university endures for generation to come,”he said
Equally the Don express deep appreciation to all workers unions in the University ASUU,SSANU,NAAT and NASU for leadership, sacrifices, understanding and resilience since he came on board a year and seven months ago.
He lauded the leadership of these unions for creating an enabling environment for stability of academic calendar and industrial peace on campus
The Vice Chancellor called on the workforce to be more dedicated and committed to their duties in a bid to realize the dreams of the founding founders of the university, assuring them that his administration remains committed to prioritizing their welfare , recognizing that every labourer deserves to be rewarded.
Conclusively,Prof Ayodele urged the workforce “to prioritize their health by going for regular medical check – ups , rest when their body calls for it and take care of themselves through proper nutrition and regular exercise.”
