….Says APC flag bearer most suitable for nation’s top job
The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as the most suitable person for the office of the President among the contestants for the nation’s highest office.
Rt. Hon. Adelugba said Tinubu has the requisite experience, pedigree, influence and has built contacts and friendship across ethnic, tribal, cultural and religious divides to superintend over a united and prosperous Nigeria if elected into office in the February 25 presidential poll.
According to a statement on Monday by her Special Adviser (Media), Odunayo Ogunmola, the Speaker said Tinubu’s stellar performance as the Governor of Lagos State in which he laid the foundation for the sustainable development of “the most prosperous and complex state in Nigeria” had prepared him for Presidency of the country.
Rt. Hon. Adelugba said Tinubu represents the visionary leader Nigeria urgently needs to provide solutions to critical problems confronting the nation noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the APC presidential candidate was carefully envisioned and prepared to boost the standard of living of Nigerians and ensure a prosperous country.
She said Tinubu’s competence could be seen from the success he made of his governorship tenure in the areas of growth of Internally Generated Revenue, attraction of investment, infrastructure and human capital development, security management and assemblage of best brains from within and outside Lagos State to deliver good governance.
The Speaker who joined other political leaders at the APC presidential campaign rally held in Ado Ekiti last Friday said the people of Ekiti State had spoken with their impressive attendance and rousing welcome accorded Tinubu that they are throwing their weight behind the candidacy of the former Lagos State helmsman as the best candidate for the top job.
Rt. Hon. Adelugba urged all eligible voters in Ekiti State to give their votes to APC presidential flag bearer at the presidential poll saying the state stands to benefit immensely from the Tinubu Presidency more than any of the candidates of the other political parties seeking for their votes.
According to her, Nigeria stands to gain a lot from Tinubu’s Presidency because he is an astute manager who can thrive under crisis and emergency like he did when the Federal Government under the leadership of former President Olusegun Obasanjo seized Lagos State local government allocations noting that he would hit the ground running on assumption of office and successfully tackle problems confronting the nation.
Describing Tinubu as a detribalized Nigerian, Rt. Hon. Adelugba noted that he demonstrated his capacity to promote inclusive governance during his administration in Lagos State when he appointed many non-Yorubas into his government expressing confidence that his Presidency would uphold the unity of the country.
She said: “We thank God for the success of the last APC presidential campaign rally held in Ekiti State. It is something that is obvious and evident and everyone of us knows that Asiwaju is somebody that has the antecedents, the competence, the pedigree and experience based on what he has done at various levels in the government and private sector.
“Looking at the whole of Nigeria today, I don’t know any state that you can rate above Lagos State. He is the one that laid the foundation upon which other governors that came after him are building on.
“He knows how to build successors, he knows how to build infrastructure. If somebody like Asiwaju had been on the saddle in Nigeria, all the money we had in the past would have been spent on infrastructure and human capital development now that we are struggling to build infrastructure to cope with the increasing population.
“Look at the master plan of Lagos State, Lagos State is growing everyday because there was a plan on ground. He knows how to train successors because he knows he cannot be there in perpetuity and that is why he has the human capacity that can do this job with him.
“Some people are saying he is old, are they going to run 4×100 metres relay race when they get to government? No. He is going to use talented people, people that will fit the exact ministries and agencies and we are going to see rapid growth in Nigeria.”
Rt. Hon. Adelugba noted that Tinubu also commands respect in the international community as he is always in touch with representatives of foreign governments in a bid to fulfill his vision for Nigeria.
The Speaker urged leaders and members of the APC to work hard in every nook and cranny of Ekiti State to sell the candidacy of Tinubu to the electorate in the grassroots and ensure his victory at the polls to make his dream for a prosperous Nigeria become a reality.
