The match is to prepare Ekiti United for the 2023 NNL season as they play their first match in Lagos against newly promoted Madiba FC on March 19.
The governor who will take the official kickoff at 3pm will be accompanied to the stadium by top goverment functionaries and political big wigs in the state.
Gov Oyebanji will equally officially unveil the new home and away kits of Ekiti United FC as well as the players and the technical crew headed by Adedeji Adu being the Team Mananger.
The Ekiti United versus Shooting Stars friendly match promises to be fun filled as many football enthusiasts and fans of the state owned team have been yearning to see the crop of players pencilled down playing grade A Pre-season matches.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mrs Tola Faseluka while inviting the general public to the occasion said governor Biodun Oyebanji through the match tomorrow will be setting the pace once again by being the first governor of Ekiti State that will be visiting the stadium to watch Ekiti United FC in a pre-season encounter for official unveiling of the team jersey, players and officials.
The match is coming on the heels of series of impressive result recorded by Ekiti United FC in their pre-season matches with the latest being the 6-1 thrashing of Adeyeye FC at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium.
Meanwhile, a friendly match between Ekiti United and Àré FC will be decided today Tuesday by 8am at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium Ado Ekiti to prepare the NNL side for tomorrow’s big clash with Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
