A group of traders under the aegis of Ekiti local livestock sellers responsible for the selling of Goat and Ram in the state have applauded the state Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for patronising them at this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration.
This appreciation was shown today during the visit of the Governor represented by the Secretary to State Government(SSG), Dr Habibat Adubiaro in company of the Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to Ekiti State Government on Community Communication, Mrs Mary Omotoso to one of the market stands of the local livestock sellers at Adere Market in Ado-Ekiti.
The local livestock sellers through their state Chairman, Alhaji Bello Liaz thanked the Governor for the patronage which he described as first of its kind in the state.
He said that Governor Oyebanji has again demonstrated his commitment to boost local content policy and reduce capital flight from the state.
He promised their full support for the present administration and prayed for the success of the Governor.
“We really appreciate the state Governor, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for according us the recognition and deeming it fit to patronize us which has never happened before. We are extremely grateful for his support for our business.
“The Governor in his action demonstrated his commitment to boost local content policy and reduce capital flight which will further add to the economic growth of the state.
“We the local livestock sellers want to use this opportunity to pledge our full support for the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and pray for his success in office”
Speaking in the same vein, Chief(Mrs) Mary Adewole who is the leader of local livestock sellers at Adere market heaped praises on Governor Oyebanji for excellent performance and fulfilling his promise to them.
“The Governor has not betrayed the trust reposed in him. He has kept to his promise and we pray for his success in office”
Earlier, the SSG in her remarks said the Governor decided to Patronise local livestock sellers to support their businesses and change the usual practice whereby such patronage was given to those who were not into the business.
“The Governor in keeping to his promise to boost local content policy has decided to give patronage of this year’s ram for sallah to local livestock sellers in deviation from the usual practice whereby those that are not into livestock business were given such opportunity.
“Since the Governor has decided to allow you to enjoy this opportunity, it is left for you to be honest and sincere to one another”
