EKITI NUJ CELEBRATES FIRST LADY, PROF. OYEBANJI ON BIRTHDAY

The Ekiti State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the First Lady of Ekiti State, Prof. Olayemi Oyebanji, on her birthday; describing her as a compassionate women advocate whose interventions have continued to restore hope, dignity and economic confidence among women across the State.

The Council, in a statement signed by the chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi and the Secretary, Comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin, hailed Oyebanji for consistently deploying her position to champion causes that directly touch the lives of women and vulnerable members of the society.

The Union particularly commended the Furst Lady for making women empowerment a major pillar of her interventions, through programmes designed to equip women with skills, provide them with means of livelihood and strengthen their capacity to become economically independent.

According to the Council, her initiatives have gone beyond mere distribution of support, as they have helped many women to acquire productive skills, strengthening households and contributing to the economic development of Ekiti State.

The NUJ acknowledged Oyebanji’s support for the female wing of the union, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Ekiti State, describing it as a reflection of her understanding of the strategic role of women journalists in society.

“The Ekiti NUJ Council joins women across the State, the journalism community and the entire people of Ekiti in celebrating Prof. Olayemi Oyebanji on her birthday. The Council wishes her many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment, while expressing confidence that her passion for women’s empowerment and inclusive development will continue to inspire more women to become self-reliant, productive and agents of positive change in their families and communities. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency”, the Union said.
