Nollywood actress Jumoke Odetola has announced that she is entering a new chapter of her life dedicated to Christian ministry, declaring that she is now a minister and preacher of the gospel.
The Yoruba actress recently attracted attention on social media after sharing a series of posts about her new spiritual journey, prompting friends, family members and colleagues to reach out to her out of concern.
Odetola subsequently addressed the reactions, assuring those who had contacted her that there was no cause for alarm and that the changes taking place in her life were centred on her faith.
“I truly appreciate the numerous calls, messages, and concerns of my friends, family, and colleagues,” she said. “I feel seen, cared for and loved.”
‘Nothing is wrong with me’
The actress acknowledged that something significant was happening in her life but stressed that it should not be interpreted as an indication that she was experiencing a problem.
“Yes, something is going on in my life, but nothing is wrong with me,” Odetola said.
She described the development as the beginning of a new spiritual phase, explaining that she was “entering a new season with God.”
Odetola also declared that she had become a minister of God and was taking on a new role as a preacher of the gospel.
“I am now a minister of God,” she said, signalling a deeper public commitment to her Christian faith.
Odetola’s announcement comes as other Nigerian entertainment personalities have also taken more visible roles in Christian ministry.
Actress Tonto Dikeh is another prominent example. In 2026, Dikeh announced the establishment of the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, an interdenominational Christian fellowship in Abuja focused on prayer, revival, spiritual training and evangelism.
Dikeh had previously spoken openly about her Christian journey and increased involvement in faith-based activities before launching the fellowship.
