APM  Wins  Bye-Election in  Bauchi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Adamu Yakubu of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as the winner of the Sakwa Constituency bye-election in Bauchi State’s Zaki Local Government Area.

The INEC returning officer and Professor at Federal University of Health Sciences Azare, Prof. Muhammad Sabo, declared Yakubu the winner after collation of results from the constituency.

Yakubu polled 8,515 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which secured 3,771 votes.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 2,076 votes, while the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) polled 727 votes.

“Adamu Yakubu of the Allied Peoples Movement, having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the Sakwa Constituency by-election,” Professor Sabo declared.

 

“I, therefore, declare Adamu Yakubu of the APM duly elected,” the Returning Officer said.
