Former Benue State governor Samuel Ortom has criticised the current administration in the state over what he described as a lack of adherence to the rule of law and poor governance.
Speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show, he said the current situation in the state reflects what he described as a government that does not believe in the rule of law.
He said: “We are yet to get it right in Benue State as far as some of us are concerned. “What we have been witnessing in the last three years and some months is that we have a government that does not believe in the rule of law but secretly is running opponents down.”
Ortom recalled his experience with some vehicles that he said were legitimately given to him by the government but were later seized.
According to him, the vehicles were taken without any communication, forcing him to seek legal redress. He said: “I have vehicles that were given to me legitimately by the government.
