The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police to eight state commands and key strategic formations following the endorsement of his recommendations by the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The redeployment, announced on Thursday, is aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing leadership and advancing ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.

The affected state commands are Abia, Plateau, Bayelsa, Cross River, Anambra, Edo, Jigawa and Delta.

Under the new postings, CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo was deployed to Abia, CP Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa, CP Ajo Geofrey Ordue to Cross River, CP Nanna Oji Ama to Anambra, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo, CP Tani Murtala to Jigawa and CP Samuel Erale to Delta.

The IGP also approved the deployment of several commissioners to strategic formations, including the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Counter Terrorism Unit, Police Academy, Police Staff College, and the Departments of Finance and Administration, as well as Training and Development.

Disu charged the newly deployed officers to strengthen intelligence-led policing, improve operational effectiveness, promote professionalism and deepen community engagement while maintaining the highest standards of discipline, accountability and service delivery.

According to the Police, the postings are part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional capacity and deliver more effective policing nationwide.
