The Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has congratulated Elder Toyin Ayoola on his appointment as Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The Council, in a statement co-signed by its Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi and the Secretary, Comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin, described Ayoola’s appointment as a testament to his unwavering dedication, professionalism and longstanding contributions to journalism and public service.
The Union noted that Ayoola had prominently served as a member of the NUJ and pioneer Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Ekiti State where he distinguished himself through exemplary leadership, integrity, and commitment to the growth of the media profession.
The umbrella body for journalists added that Ayoola’s impactful years as a staff of Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) was a testament of his passion for journalism and capacity for innovation.
Meanwhile, the Union has also commended the Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, for his instrumental role in facilitating the appointment; noting that the Senator is renowned for being supportive to Ekiti cause.
“We equally express our appreciation to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for finding Elder Ayoola worthy of this responsibility.
“We are confident that Elder Ayoola will bring his wealth of experience, discipline and professionalism to bear in the discharge of his duties, thereby justifying the confidence reposed in him.
“Once again, we congratulate him and wish him a successful and impactful tenure”, the statement added
