EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF IDO OSI LG TASKS COUNCIL WORKERS ON DILIGENCE AND LEAVING GOOD LEGACIES IN SERVICE

The Chairman of Ido Osi LG, Chief (Hon) Bamidele Adetiloye Omoleye, has urged Council workers to remain diligent and dedicated in their duties to enable them build lasting legacies in public service.

Hon Omoleye made the call at the 60th birthday and Pen-Down retirement ceremony of the Head of Local Govt Administration of Ido/Osi LG Mr Gbenga Sanya, held at the Council Secretariat in Ido Ekiti recently.

Congratulating the retiree, the Chairman described Mr. Sanya as “a man of the people,” pointing to the large turnout of guests at the ceremony as evidence of the respect he commands among colleagues and associates.

He praised the retiring Administrator for his commitment to duty, humility and calm disposition, noting that there had been no conflicts between them during the period they worked together.

Council boss also encouraged members of staff to maintain cordial working relationships with one another in order to sustain professional ties even after leaving the service.

He affirmed that Mr Sanya as a dependable Ally who has being his Adviser and Confidant even on personal issues as well and that he would greatly miss him

Speaking at the event, Pastor Gbenga Omoyajowo who delivered a brief exhortation titled “No Condition is Permanent ” drawing from the biblical text Eccle 12:1. He urged attendees to always do good as we shall be remembered by whatever one does at a particular position because it’s for a while as we shall give account of our deeds one day.

In his remarks at the event ,the Permanent Secretary of LG Loans Board Mr Rotimi Akomolede, also commended Mr.Sanya who he referred to as a longtime friend who is also his In-law for his diligence, dedication and commitment, describing their working relationship as pleasant.

He said that the local government boss could still tap from the wealth of experience of Mr Sanya by engaging him as Consultant to Ido Osi Local Government thereafter.

He prayed for good health and longevity for the retiree and encouraged council staff to emulate his work ethics in the discharge of their duties.

Responding, Mr. Sanya thanked the Ekiti State Government for the opportunity to serve for over 33 years in the Local Govt Service.

He expressed gratitude to God Almighty who made it possible for him to get to the peak of his career. He equally thanked the LG Chairman, PS, ES and staff of Ido Osi LG for giving him a rousing celebration.
He appreciated God for sparing his despite all the challenges that arose during his service years

The event featured farewell songs by the Council choir, goodwill messages from colleagues and friends, and the presentation of gifts to the celebrant.

Mr. Sanya was born on March 19,1966, in Aramoko Ekiti. He joined the Ekiti State Local Govt service as a Higher Executive Officer GL 08 on 22nd December, 1993 at Ekiti West LG Government in Aramoko Ekiti.

In 2003, he converted into the Administrative Officers’ cadre. He worked in several Local Governments and LGSC. He was appointed Head of Local Administration Grade Level 17 in 2018 and he was made an Administrator to oversee Irede LCDA at it’s creation

He concluded his service at Ido/Osi Local Government upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.

The event was attended by some political office holders, Heads of security Agencies, Executive Secretaries, body of HLAs, NULGE Rep and other dignitaries.
