Eid-el-Fitr: Dapo Abiodun Seeks Continued Muslim Support, Reaffirms Commitment to Ogun’s Growth

Governor Dapo Abiodun has called on the Muslim community in Ogun State to sustain its support for his administration, pledging to continue driving physical and economic development in the state until the end of his tenure on May 29, 2027.

The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, made the appeal on Friday during the two-rakat Eid prayer held at the Central Praying Ground in Lantoro, Abeokuta, marking the celebration of Eid al-Fitr after the 30-day fasting period of Ramadan.

Abiodun attributed the achievements recorded by his administration over the past seven years to the consistent prayers and support of the Muslim faithful, assuring them that their contributions would not be taken for granted.

Leading the Eid prayer, the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Sa’adallah Alade Bamgbola, offered prayers for the continued success of the governor’s administration, asking Allah to guide the government in delivering more dividends of democracy to the people.

He also urged Muslims to uphold the values of piety, discipline, and selfless service learned during Ramadan, stressing that such virtues would earn them divine rewards.

The cleric further prayed for good health, protection, and abundant blessings for Muslim families, encouraging continued support for the less privileged in society.
In a similar vein, the Baba Adini of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, Alhaji Sharafadeen Tunji Ishola, called on Muslims to sustain the moral teachings of Ramadan by good and promoting peace across the state.

Dignitaries present at the prayer included the Secretary-General of the Ogun State Muslim Council, Asiwaju Kamal’deen Akintunde; the Wakilu Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, Sheikh Iskeel Lawal; the Baba Adini of Egbaland, Chief Rasheed Raji; Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Adesina; and Chairman of Egba Zone of the council, Alhaji Abdul-Hakeem Tunji Kalejaiye, among others.
