Ekiti: Commissioner, Ex- Fed. Lawmaker seek media support for Oyebanji

The Ekiti state Commissioner for Information , Rt Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, and former member of the House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola, have urged media practitioners to continue supporting Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.

The duo spoke separately when they attended the February edition of the Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists presided over by the Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi.

Addressing the gathering, the Information Commissioner,  acknowledged the strong bond between the state government and media, saying Oyebanji values this partnership.

He emphasized the governor’s commitment to journalists’ welfare, urging them to reciprocate with responsible journalism.

On his part, Bimbo Daramola described journalism as “the eyes and ears of the people whose impact on shaping the society cannot be qualified”praising journalists’ positive impact on the state.

He pledged his support for their welfare, urging them to uphold professionalism and fairness.

He also backed Oyebanji’s re-election bid, citing achievements in health, education, infrastructure, and human capital development.
