LSPC HONOURS 23 RETIREES, HOLDS 2026 SPECIAL THANKSGIVING IN GRAND STYLE — CELEBRATES SERVICE, DEDICATION AND INSTITUTIONAL LEGACY

The Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, held a memorable 2024–2026 Retirees’ Party and Year 2026 Special Thanksgiving at the LSPC New Hall, honouring 23 distinguished staff members who bowed out of active service between 2024 and 2026.

The dual-purpose event, which blended gratitude to God with heartfelt appreciation for years of meritorious service, drew management staff, retirees and family members, representatives of key ministries and members of staff.

In his welcome address, the General Manager, LSPC, Hon. Dr. Kolawole Peregrino, described the occasion as “a celebration of faithfulness, sacrifice and the enduring values that define public service.”

He noted that “today, we are not just celebrating retirement; we are celebrating lives of impact and a legacy of excellence that will continue to inspire this Corporation.”

The General Manager further stated that the event marked the second edition of the Retirees’ Programme held under his leadership, reaffirming management’s commitment to honouring service and preserving institutional memory.

“The first edition, held in on the 12th of January, 2024 covered retirees from year 2019 – 2023, set a standard we are proud to sustain. Honoring our retirees is not an obligation; it is a culture we are deliberately building in LSPC,” he added.

The Year 2026 Special Thanksgiving featured a rich session of praise and worship, a short exhortation and a general thanksgiving prayer, as staff and management collectively gave thanks for preservation, progress and new beginnings in the Corporation.

The representative of the Head of Service, Mrs. Bankole Bolutife described the retirees as “models of professionalism whose careers reflect the finest ideals of the Lagos State Public Service.” The representative of the permanent secretary, Ministry of Establishment, Training and Pension, Mr. Yusuf Elegbede commended their discipline and loyalty, stating that “LSPC is stronger because of the foundations laid by these retirees.”

The head of Inspectorate department, Mrs. Olaseni Eze – Okoroafor noted that “retirement does not diminish relevance; rather, it crowns years of diligence and integrity.” The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Tokunbo Bajulaye praised LSPC for institutionalizing the culture of recognition, adding that “this gathering reflects a humane and forward-thinking public service.”

Emotional testimonials and goodwill messages from staff highlighted the retirees’ mentorship, work ethic and enduring legacies. Mrs. Alausa Abdul – Quadri, one of the speakers remarked that “many of us standing here today are products of the guidance and example of these retirees.”

This was followed by the formal recognition and presentation of certificate of service and appreciation gifts to each retiree, a moment marked by applause, gratitude and visible pride.

The atmosphere was further enlivened by side attractions and special performances, after which prayers were offered for the retirees, committing their next phase of life into God’s hands. The ceremonial cutting of the cake symbolized thanksgiving, fulfillment and the opening of a new chapter.

Responding on behalf of the retirees, Mrs. Abosede Alebiosu expressed deep appreciation, saying, “We are profoundly grateful to the Lagos State Government, LSPC Management and our colleagues for this honour. Our years of service were fulfilling, and today’s celebration assures us that our contributions truly mattered.”

The Corporation Secretary, Mrs. Anike Fashola in her vote of thanks, appreciated all dignitaries and staff who contributed to the success of the event, noting that “this memorable celebration reflects the unity and shared values that define LSPC.”

The programme concluded with a photo session and entertainment, as staff and retirees shared moments of joy, laughter and lasting memories.

The event reaffirmed LSPC’s enduring culture of honour, gratitude and institutional memory, celebrating the enduring value of dedication, integrity and excellence in public service.
