A renowned non- governmental organization under the banner of Marcus Ayodeji Alo Foundation, has demonstrated unparalleled philanthropic gesture, by distributing cash and food palliatives to over 200 vulnerable in Ekiti State to celebrate the Christmas festivity and reduce poverty.

The foundation sympathetic to the All Progressives Congress-led government, also organised a walk for BAO political strategy where mammoth crowd, had attended to mobilise support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, saying the gift items donated were in firm alignment with social welfare and intervention policies of the Oyebanji’s administration .

Speaking during the distribution of the food items done in Omuo Ekiti on Thursday, during the walk, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Mr. Marcus Ayodeji Alo, promised to continually initiate programmes that would complement the anti poverty policies being devised by Governor Oyebanji to banish poverty out of the state.

Materials distributed during the walk included multi million naira cash gifts, branded bags of rice, souvenirs and other food supplements and was attended by community leaders, youth groups, women and other volunteers

The foundation’s CEO, said those who benefited were majorly widows, aged people, people living with disabilities and some selected unemployed youths to celebrate Christmas.
Marcus Alo promised that the foundation will continually reach out to the needy in Omuo Ekiti and Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, comprising Ekiti East, Emure and Gbonyin Local Governments to complement what Governor Oyebanji was undertaking to alleviate sufferings among the masses.
The APC chieftain advised the people to celebrate with moderation and be security conscious, so that efforts being taken by the government to tackle insecurity can work out effectively.
“As we celebrate Christmas and prepare to step into a new year, may this season bring peace to our homes, hope to our communities, and renewed strength for collective progress. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
“To make the celebrations more memorable, the Marcus Ayodeji Alo Foundation carried out a meaningful street credibility walk and outreach at Ekiti East Local Government, a gesture rooted in compassion, responsibility, and genuine service to humanity.
This was not a symbolic appearance.
“It was a deliberate effort to engage directly with the people.
To listen, support the needy, to reaffirm that leadership remains most impactful when it stays connected to the grassroots.
“The Foundation’s initiative clearly aligns with the people-oriented governance approach of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, whose administration continues to prioritize inclusive development, social welfare, and steady community engagement across Ekiti State”.
Besides the politics involved, which is to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress, Marcus Alo said the outreach reflects a shared commitment to dignity, empathy, and sustainable impact.
He added that the philanthropic gesture underscores the belief that governance and social responsibility must go beyond policy statements and translate into visible, human-centered actions.
“The presence of volunteers, community leaders, and residents during the walk further highlighted the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change. Trust is built when leaders and institutions show consistency, sincerity, and a willingness to walk with the people they serve.
“As the year draws to a close, this initiative stands as a timely reminder that progress is achieved through service, not slogans, and through action, not promises.
Once again, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a fulfilling New Year ahead.
“May the coming year usher in greater unity, compassion, and development for Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole”, he stated.
