
THE commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Ekiti State Police Command, CSP Marcus Ola Ogundola on Saturday unveiled two powerful books “How to Be an Effective and Efficient Security Personnel” and “Mo Jose Iku Ye” .
The two books built on decades of policing experience centres on the national conversation on security and proffered conventional solutions to the current situations.

The launch of CSP Marcus Ola Ogundola’s two new books in Ado-Ekiti drew a distinguished audience of dignitaries, security professionals, and policymakers, turning the ceremony into a broad discussion on crime prevention and public safety.

Performing the ceremony, Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Abiodun Oyebanji, represented by the Amotekun Commander, Brigadier General Olu Adewa, rtd. commended Ogundola for documenting practical knowledge that both officers and ordinary citizens can apply to guarantee security.
He noted that the governor values security-oriented literature that helps communities understand the role they must play in maintaining peace, stressing that the books arrive at a very critical moment in Nigeria’s security journey.
Speaking further, Brigadier General Adewa declared that Ekiti State currently enjoys an uncommon level of peace and emphasized that there is presently no active presence of violent herdsmen in the state.
A representative of former Governor Ayodele Fayose also applauded Ogundola for bridging the persistent gap between theory and practice in Nigeria’s security sector.
He emphasized that while many people discuss insecurity from a distance, Ogundola has lived it in the field, making his two books essential reading for young officers, policymakers, and students in security-related disciplines.
Also speaking the representative of the Commissioner of Police, CP Eribo,DCP Iyanse described Ogundola as a thoroughbred professional and gallant officer who is has shown rare commitment over the years.
Other dignitaries including a former member of the House of Representatives who doubles as Commander Agro Marshall, Mr. Olamide Oni called on policy makers to adopt and implement the various suggestions on the book.
Delivering the official review, Dr. Babatunde from Afe Babalola University described “How to Be an Effective and Efficient Security Personnel” and “Mo Jose Iku Ye” as crucial texts for students in intelligence and security studies.
He noted that the books capture real incidents, real decision-making, and the emotional weight of policing elements absent from purely theoretical materials and will therefore serve as important training resources for aspiring security professionals.
Earlier, CSP Ogundola explained that writing the books required late nights, long days, and honest reflection on his policing journey. He said the first book focuses on professional discipline, efficiency, and operational conduct for security personnel, while the second captures personal experiences meant to guide officers and civilians.
He expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Commissioner Kayode adeolu Egebetokun and senior officers, and all supporters, saying the publications are his contributions to fostering a safer, more informed society.
