Smear Campaign: FIJ’s fake news on alleged division in FUOYE is mischievous, misleading-Dr. Adeleke, ex-Director, CEC

Immediate past Acting Director of the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) or the Federal University Oye-Ekiti FUOYE, Associate Professor Omolade Adeleke, has described as mischievous l, misleading, and embarrassing a report entitled, Investigative Feature: Power Tussle at FUOYE – Threats, Manipulations, and the Battle for Leadership, on the Foundation for investigative Journalism ( FIJ) news outlet, saying it was all a hatchet job from those writing the evil script for the Reporters who has allowed himself to be used as agent of chaos, mischief and smear campaign.
The said report has alleged in house squabble and division in FUOYE, allegedly caused by Dr . Adeleke. The mischievous Reporter also alleged that Adeleke was allegedly facing some alleged financial misappropriation cases. But in a swift reaction, Dr. Adeleke has refused the claims in the fake news, saying there was no division or infighting on colleagues in the University. While he clarified that he has been proved and given a clean bill of health on all alleged cases earlier leveled against him by unscrupulous elements in the system, he has since handed over to the his successor at CEC and has since maintained very cordial and progressive relationship with his colleagues in FUOYE. In a strongly worded reaction, Dr. Adeleke, who has left an enduring legacy with CEC as a sprawling IGR unit in FUOYE, said:
“I received with dismay the level of lies the writer of this story is feeding the public with. There was no where I talked to any staff in Ag VC office let alone threatening since I left the office on the completion of my tenure as Ag Director of CCE.
It is on record that I was the first to write my valedictory message on the senate platform reeling out all the achievements we made during my tenure as the Ag Director of CCE. In addition, I promptly gave my handover note to the new Director and I have contacted him afterwards expressing my readiness to work with him in whatever area he might need my assistance to achieve success in the new task.
The new Director, Prof. Benjamin Omolayo can confirm this. With all these gestures, the news from FlJ is nothing but a brazen display of mischievousness on the part of the writer and his sponsors. With the record I have made as a Pioneer Director of the CCE and the initiator as well as the brain behind the establishment of the FUOYE Part Time Institute, I am proud to leave the office with my shoulder high. With the support of Almighty God and my dear substantive Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, I have built a laudable and sprawling educational empire for FUOYE, which is equally and enduring and robust Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) hub. The Continuing Education Centre that the institute has metamophorsed into currently has over 6000 students, thus becoming the highest IGR unit in the university. In terms of asset, the institute under my leadership attracted infrastructures worth over one billion naira to the university through community collaborations. These include a world class JAMB accredited CBT center worth over 100 million at no cost to the university, an ultramodern mini campus in Ayedun with laboratories, halls, computer lab. Massive solar powered electricity, Recreation facilities among others worth over 500 million Naira also at no cost to the university.
As well as five 300 capacity lecture halls at rapid campus in lkole-Ekkt , office buildings all worth over 300 million Naira at no cost to the university. All but not limited to these have been made possible through my interactions with the donuors who are indigenes of host communities where we have our campuses. With all these achievements among others I can’t be subjected to all these mischief and propaganda by the media. Once again, I reiterate my loyalty to the university management and I am also ready to continue to work for the progress of the university in any capacity I find myself.”

Having given his befitting reaction the lies being spread by FIJ, Dr. Adeleke advised the news outlet to dissipate its energy on saving it’s neck from the legal battle on defamation and others it is currently facing from Prof. Abayomi for the several fake news and damaging reports is had earlier published .
