The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter, heartily felicitates Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, on the occasion of her birthday.
The Chairperson of NAWOJ ,Comrade Adewumi Ademiju in a statement signed by the Secretary, Comrade Funmi Falae, described Erelu Fayemi as “a beacon of hope and a tireless advocate whose impact on women and children is both historic and enduring.” The association praised her unwavering commitment to gender justice and inclusive leadership.
Adewumi Ademiju noted that Erelu Fayemi has redefined advocacy through action. “She didn’t just speak for women—she created space for them to lead, thrive, and influence policy. Her legacy is visible in the lives she’s empowered and the laws she helped enact,” she said.
“Through her co-founding of the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), Erelu Fayemi has supported thousands of women-led initiatives across Africa. In Ekiti State, her role was pivotal in the passage of the Gender-Based Violence Prohibition Law and the Equal Opportunities Law.
“She is also the founder of the Ekiti Development Foundation (EDF), which delivers life-changing support in education, health, and economic empowerment. As an author and speaker, she continues to inspire women globally.
