The Director General ,DG, of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre has declared that cultural and traditional festival is critical to economic advancement.
The DG added that traditional celebration calls for tourism and therefore attractsbpersonalities from all walks of life.
He also earmarked the celebration as a preservation of local contents where people from different entities learn and know about other cultural backgrounds and diversities.
Wale Ojo-Lanre gave the submission at this year’s Igogo Day celebration where he was well received by His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Adewumi, the traditional monarch of Igogo Ekiti.

The monarch – Onigogo ,commended the Ekiti state governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for “his visionary leadership and dedication to the sustainable development of Ekiti State.
“The Governor’s efforts to elevate Ekiti as a premier tourist destination in Nigeria were particularly lauded.”, the monarch said.
Ambassador Ojo-Lanre reiterated the Ekiti State government’s commitment “to enhancing the tourism sector as a driver of economic growth, job creation, and community engagement.”
He pledged “continued support for the development of local festivals and tourism initiatives that showcase Ekiti’s beauty and cultural richness.”
The event highlighted Igogo Day’s role as “a significant local celebration with potential for global cultural tourism, further positioning Ekiti on the international tourism stage”, Ojo-Lanre said.
