The Ekiti Government has equipped 22 newly employed foresters with new kits and uniforms as part of steps to ensure enhanced performance on their duties
The Executive Secretary of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Sunday Adekunle while presenting the items to the foresters at a ceremony in Ado-Ekiti said the gesture underscores government’s commitment to effective forest management and conservation efforts.
Mr. Adekunle expressed his gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for prioritizing the Commission’s needs, highlighting the critical roles these tools will play in empowering the new foresters to effectively perform their duties of preserving the state’s forest resources.
“The kits and uniforms will significantly enhance the effectiveness of our foresters in protecting and managing Ekiti’s natural resources,” Mr. Adekunle remarked.
He urged the recruits to embrace a spirit of dedication and responsiveness in their roles, emphasizing the importance of acquiring a thorough understanding of their responsibilities.
In his remarks, the Head of Uniformed Field staff of the Commissioner ,Mr Mathew Awotola challenged the new foresters to
put in their best and ensure they properly utilize the provided equipment.
He stressed the need for them to serve as exemplary ambassadors for the Forestry Commission and upholding the values of professionalism and excellence.
The presentation ceremony was attended by Directors and Zonal officers of the Commission.
